Under her rules

Synopsis

Alice begins working after graduation and encounters Nannalin, a boss whose intensity makes professional attention difficult to separate from personal attraction. The workplace creates repeated opportunities for closeness, but also gives the relationship an unequal distribution of power. What appears alluring in one moment may feel controlling in another, leaving Alice to consider how much freedom she retains inside the connection. The announced romance centers on the question of whether she should leave the arrangement or accept the terms being offered. Its premise invites attention to boundaries rather than assuming that desire makes a power imbalance harmless. Alice must discover what she wants independently of the pressure to please the woman who can influence both her working life and her emerging feelings.

Alice originally hopes to enter content creation at the agency L’UNE, but an interview leads instead to an offer to become Nannalin’s executive assistant. The job carries a private complication: two years earlier, after a breakup with her college girlfriend, Alice encountered Nannalin at a club and shared a memorable night with her. They parted without an explanation that would make the new professional meeting easy to interpret. Alice now faces uncertainty about whether her employer remembers the connection at all. The agency’s hierarchy gives that question consequences beyond embarrassment, because asking for recognition may also expose feelings within an arrangement in which one woman has considerable authority over the other.
