Synopsis

Nina and Madeleine have loved one another for decades, but to the outside world they are simply neighbours. Their apartments face each other on the top floor of a building, allowing them to share the pleasures and routines of a life together while preserving a public separation. Even Madeleine’s family does not know the truth about their relationship. An unforeseen event disrupts the arrangement and makes the distance between public appearance and private commitment impossible to ignore. As Madeleine’s daughter begins to discover what has been hidden, the women’s bond faces pressures their long-established routine could once keep at bay. The story makes an older lesbian couple’s shared history and determination to remain connected its emotional centre.
