The Proof is in the Pudding

Synopsis

Milly and Lise need to make a vegan cake for a birthday celebration, a practical challenge that sends them searching online for a suitable recipe. The instructions they discover lead toward an experience more intimate and unexpected than ordinary baking. The short film uses domestic preparation as a route into curiosity about the body, pleasure, and the relationship between the two women. Following a recipe offers a structure, but the feelings that emerge do not necessarily remain within its apparent limits. The story follows the possibility that a familiar activity can become a space for experimenting with how people understand one another. Its playful premise turns an obligation to produce something for a party into an encounter whose importance belongs much more personally to the women involved.
