Never Too Late

Synopsis

Rita and Beth reconnect after leaving school in the early 1950s and find a private space in which feelings they have concealed can finally be expressed. The prospect of running away offers a way to imagine a shared future beyond the expectations surrounding them. Circumstances prevent the plan from becoming reality, leaving their connection unresolved as the years continue. Four decades later, different lives and commitments have not entirely removed the question of what might have been possible. The film follows love across a separation shaped by time and social constraint, asking whether an earlier attachment can remain meaningful without remaining unchanged. Their story concerns both a missed opportunity and the courage required to consider another one when the people involved are no longer young.
