Synopsis

Claudia has grown up almost entirely apart from other people in a remote Australian home. After her mother dies, the sheltered teenager is left to deal with a world she has never been prepared to navigate. Grace’s unexpected arrival in the garden interrupts that isolation. The girls’ connection offers Claudia a form of companionship that is both unfamiliar and immediately important. Grace’s openness creates space for trust, affection and a first romantic attachment, while Claudia’s circumstances make their refuge feel fragile. Their time together allows love and loss to exist side by side rather than resolving one through the other. Katie Found’s debut follows an intimate summer relationship as the pressures of life beyond the girls’ private world begin to intrude.
