Love Me Tender

Synopsis

Clémence tells her former husband that she is having romantic relationships with women. What might have been a private statement about her life becomes the start of a profound upheaval when he seeks custody of their son. She is forced to fight for her place as a mother while also defending the freedom to live as the woman she has become. The conflict brings parenthood and personal autonomy into painful contact: maintaining one part of her identity is made to seem incompatible with another. Anna Cazenave Cambet’s drama centres on Clémence’s effort to resist that imposed division. Her relationships with women are not incidental background; acknowledging them changes the terms on which others allow her to inhabit her own life.
