Fake Buddies

Synopsis

Juha notices a tension between her boyfriend Minhwan and his longtime friend Jinhyuk that seems difficult to explain through ordinary friendship. Her attention to their closeness also raises questions about her own relationship with Soeun, a friend whose importance may exceed the language she has used for it. The story follows parallel uncertainties rather than treating suspicion as something that belongs only to another couple. Familiar labels offer apparent reassurance while concealing feelings that have not been clearly examined. Juha must consider what she recognizes in the men and what that recognition reveals about herself. The relationships become a way of exploring the boundary between intimacy and romance, where a shared history can make a connection easy to maintain and unusually difficult to name honestly.
