Desdêmona

Synopsis

Zi spends her working life creating realistic prosthetic bodies for film productions, a craft that depends on making artificial surfaces resemble living flesh. A sudden invasion of insects into her home unsettles the boundary between that controlled work and her own physical existence. As the infestation appears to reach her body, she becomes less able to determine whether the experience is material, psychological, or some unstable combination of both. The film follows an intimate horror in which transformation is not an abstract idea but something felt through the body and surrounding space. Zi's professional command over appearances offers little reassurance when perception itself becomes unreliable. The story connects creativity, vulnerability, and a disturbing possibility of renewal, without making the process of change comfortable or easily understood.
