Anthropology 101A university professor visits his former wife's home to collect their son and unexpectedly finds himself alone with the woman who is now her partner.
A university professor visits his former wife's home to collect their son and unexpectedly finds himself alone with the woman who is now her partner. A practical family arrangement becomes an awkward encounter between people connected by intimacy, separation, and the same household. Their conversation requires both to reconsider assumptions about the person before them and about the relationship that has brought them into contact. The short film follows the emotional work hidden inside an apparently routine exchange. Parenthood does not disappear when a marriage ends, and a new partnership does not exist outside the history already surrounding the family. The meeting asks how people can recognize one another beyond inherited roles when each has reasons to feel uncertain about where they now belong.
